The Cliff Young Effect: What a 61-Year-Old Farmer Teaches Us About Endurance in Business
March 19, 2026Every strong company culture has a driving force behind it. At Victory Branding, that force is Wasim Nasrallah, the Orange County native who leads our team with authenticity, a family-first mindset, and an openness that reflects both his upbringing and his approach to business.
We sat down with Wasim to get his thoughts on leadership, values, and what keeps him motivated both inside and outside the office.
From First Sale to Company President
Wasim’s journey began in the field, side-by-side with a business partner. “I made my first sale with one of the best managers in California, who took me out on my very first day. I learned the ropes the old-fashioned way, by watching and doing,” Wasim recalls. For him, it was all about shadowing experienced team members, absorbing the sales process, and jumping right in. That was back in August 2022. In a short time, Wasim’s natural drive and people skills saw him rise quickly, an accomplishment that inspires everyone on the team.
The Yin and Yang of Leadership
When asked about his leadership style, Wasim describes it as “yin and yang.” He knows how to go with the flow, balancing productivity with a positive environment, but he’s ready to dial in on the details when things get hectic. It’s about getting the work done, having fun as a team, but also stepping up when challenges arise.
Family: The Foundation
Something that might surprise people about Wasim? “I actually have a really big family, and family is number one for me,” he says. With over 100 first and second cousins in California alone, Wasim’s extended family is his anchor. This strong focus on family directly influences the Victory Branding culture: “We all have each other’s backs, look out for one another, and keep each other accountable.”
Building a Culture That Feels Like Home
Victory Branding is known for its vibrant, supportive atmosphere. How does the team build this family vibe? “Every other Wednesday, we do a barbecue at my place for the new guys, core leaders, system managers, even people from other offices. It’s about connecting beyond the job.” It’s clear Wasim believes in more than just working hard, he wants his team to feel at home, supported and energized.
Living by Principles
Wasim’s core values echo throughout Victory Branding: “Having a good attitude is one thing you can always control. That’s something our office is known for.” He also highlights the value of kindness, even admitting it’s both his greatest strength and, at times, his weakness. “The more you show people that you care, the more they’ll care about you, in business and in life.” To Wasim, genuine connection is the foundation for team and client success.
A favorite quote of his sums it up:
“If you want to shop without looking at the price tag, you have to work without looking at your watch.”
Outside the Office
When he’s not running the show, Wasim is in the gym, out playing with his energetic one-year-old German Shepherd mix, or spending time with his big family. He grew up speaking Arabic (his first language) and is nearly fluent in Spanish, something that helps him connect with even more people in and out of work.
Lessons for Aspiring Leaders
After learning valuable business and life lessons along his journey, Wasim offers this advice:
– Show people you care, and they’ll reciprocate.
– Work ethic is everything.
– Actions always speak louder than words.
Ultimately, Wasim is building more than a business, he’s building a community rooted in loyalty, passion, and drive. If you’re passionate about growth, teamwork, and want to be part of an environment that celebrates hard work and genuine connections, Victory Branding could be your next home.
